  1. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed reading books one and two of the Ava Delaney series! I found them at on Friday and finished them on Sunday. I am currently biding my time until the third book is available in November.

I really enjoyed how Ava is slowly identifying her powers. I often feel that so many books jump right into a character discovering who they are without realistically relating how complicated that process can be.

I also can’t wait to see if Ava can save some of Peter’s humanity through her love for him.
Thank you for all your hard work and effort creating such wonderful stories.

    Best Regards,
    Candi Player

    • Thanks Candi! Ava definitely takes her time figuring things out. πŸ™‚

“I also can’t wait to see if Ava can save some of Peter’s humanity through her love for him.” <– That right there warmed my heart. Thanks for the lovely comment.

  2. Hi Claire,
I just wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying your Ava series! I read both 1 & 2 within a week and am looking forward to 3 in November.

    Steve from Rochester, NY

  3. Claire I enjoyed your book about Ava Delaney and would like to know when will the next one will be out. After I read Traunt I was really disappointed when I didn’t see a #3. So please tell me that is a #3 or there will be one.

Keep up the good work on the paranormal because they my favorite.

  4. I have read all of the book In regards to your 1st one Thirst. I am hooked and can’t wait for the 4th to come out. Since then I did not have or know what else to read since I read them all with in a weeks time πŸ˜€ So I began and have finished Vanity. I am hooked and such a story involving wolfs or ware wolfs. I am excited for the next. Book to come out however I am not sure when or what those books tittles are so that I may have look out for them. I don’t want to miss any of them so if I can at least know the tittle or estamet date of when either will be out I would for sure have it loaded to my IPhone same day! Keep that great mind healthy and happy so we (your fans) can always have a place in your stories where we can get lost and become part of your worlds. Much love. Maria A.

    • Hi Maria,

The 4th Ava book is called Taken and should be available for your iphone in August (it takes a little longer for Apple), and the sequel to Verity is called Clarity and should be available in April. Shortly afterward, there might be a short freebie available called Adversity and that comes between book 2 and 3 of the Verity (Cursed) series.

  5. I want to let you know how thrilling it was to read all 3 Ava books πŸ™‚ it’s been a long time since I have been entertained with such a great story. I am looking forward to the 4thbook πŸ™‚

  6. Your a fresh breath started with your free download and was hooked cant wait for the fourth instalment Ava is fun a quality equal to Kim Harrison’s. Novles thank you.

  7. First I want to tell you that I think you are amazing. I was looking for something to read this weekend and ran across Thirst. I devoured it and quickly bought Taunt and Tempt. I am now impatiently awaiting your next Ava installment. I adore how you have developed her character. We get the chance to grow with her as she learns about her past, her abilities, and what the future holds. I also truly enjoy that there are no real cookie cutter characters in your books. Everyone has some shades of gray, that really make them feel more involved and developed. The emotional tension between Ava and Peter has been torturous and I actually shot my fist in the air and giggled like a maniac toward the end of the Tempt. Okay, now that I’ve made myself sound like a crazy person…I’ll close by saying thank you for the wonderful stories and I look forward to many more.

    • Um, I love you. LOL. Seriously though, thanks for the encouraging comment. It’s always a relief when someone gets (and kinda likes) the way you want to take a story. The journey itself has been the most rewarding to write, and although I knew it wouldn’t suit everyone, it’s nice to know it suits some people. πŸ˜‰

And I’m soooo glad you liked the end of Tempt – let’s just say I drove myself mad worrying about it! πŸ˜€

  8. I never knew you had a Google+, I practically live in that place.

I totally agree with all the good comments up there and I hope you keep writing more stories! (PS, read Sixty Seconds yesterday, scary and *amazing*)

  9. Hi Claire, both my daughter and I have enjoyed your books immensely. So enjoyable sharing the pleasure of reading with my young daughter however we can’t get Clarity on iBooks, so we are stuck halfway through with Adversity sitting in our library. Any chance it will be appearing there soon? Driving us crazy……. James and Grace in OZ

    • Hey James (and Grace), I love hearing that you’re both reading together. πŸ™‚

I did notice that about Clarity – it’s extremely frustrating. I originally thought the delay was because of iTunes manually checking new books, but then Adversity flew through the process, so I’m not sure what’s going on over there. We’re not the only ones it’s happening to, though.

If you email me, I could arrange something for you today.

  10. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Ava Delaney series and can’t wait for the 4th book to come out. So excited to see what happens next between Ava and Peter.

I sent you an email about possibly becoming a beta reader. Have a great day.

  11. The best book to read is a book you can get lost in. I was sooo caught up in the Ava Delaney series. Kinda like an addiction. After I finished the 3rd book I had to jump on the computer to find the 4th… ahhh only to find out I have to wait. Not long though I see. I was all caught up in emotions that Ava was feeling. Good book if you can shed a tear with the characters.

    • Thanks for commenting! Getting closer to the next one anyway. πŸ™‚

I love to hear that people relate to or sympathise with the characters because they’re very real to me…

  12. Claire,
I really loved your book series ava delaney! i was reading them on my nook. But i saw today someone took the exact picture that you have for Taunt as their book cover but edited it to make it darker. The books called taken by kelli maine. I really dont want your hard work to go to waste by someone else taking it!

    • Hey Nicole.

Well spotted, and it’s nice to know someone’s looking out for me. πŸ˜‰ However, the image is actually a stock image which means anyone can buy it and use it. Exclusive art is way, way, way out of my budget right now, unfortunately. There are actually a couple of other books out there with the same images as mine, so at some stage I might try to change my own, but we shall see.

      Thanks again! πŸ™‚

  13. Hi, I’m from Australia, my name is Karla. I’ve just finished reading all the “Ava Delany” books I really am enjoying them. I sure hope there is another episode ready to be released?? I want to know how the war turns out and if Ava and Peter make a life together! πŸ™‚

  14. I have just finished Ava Delaney #4. I have loved reading them and looking forward to #5. I haven’t read any of your other books, but I am going to. Keep writing. Thank you.

  15. Hi! I would like to be a beta reader. Tried to email you, but for some reason I can not. I friend requested you on Facebook. Let me know how I can help being a beta reader.

  16. Hi:) Claire Farrell. You are so awesome. The Ava Delaney series are the best. I dragged my sister into reading them and now we are both very addicted:) I hope you are writing more books soon. I enjoyed your charaters alot:)

    • Thanks, Megan. Tell your sister I said hi! I’ll hopefully have two books published in Winter – one will have an appearance from Ava – so yep, still writing. πŸ˜‰

  17. Hi Claire,

I just wanted to say that I really love the new chaos book! I read it cover to cover, finishing at about 3am, and was late to work this morning; definitely worth it though. I couldn’t put it down.

Really hope you release the fourth book this year, or another Ava one – I’m just about to buy and read Death is a Gift. Thank you for the stories, they are really good! πŸ™‚

    • Thank you! Sorry you were late though. πŸ˜€

There will definitely be a fourth book out this year. Book 4 is not as pain-free as the previous two, and I may need a little break from Chaos after it, but it’s getting there. πŸ™‚

  18. hey wanted to tell you that i really loved the book verity! and that i cant wait to read all the others in the series cursed. i stayed up last nigh to 2:00 to was so good i could not put it down. thank you for the amazing book cant wait to get the other ones.hope their are other coming like these books.

    • Well, thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed Verity. πŸ™‚ I do have plans for more books in that world (whenever I get the time), but they’re set about a decade later and won’t solely be focused on Nathan and Perdita.

  19. Claire I am obsessed with the Ava Delaney books , I’m re-reading the series. I always try to picute what Ava, Eddie, Peter, the member of the council, ETC. would look like. Has anyone ever sent you any accurate fan art? If so I would LOVE to see then. I love to draw and after I finish the picture I am currently drawing I plan on trying this myself.

    • Sadly not. I would love to see them myself. Of course, anything drawn would be that person’s interpretation and not mine, but even that hasn’t happened. πŸ˜€ I did try not to over-describe so that people would come up with their own versions, but nobody’s sent me any art yet!

I would love to be able to draw the faces *I* see in my head, but unless stick figures grab you, that’s never going to happen. πŸ˜‰ Lots of writers get around this by using the photos of famous people, but I haven’t been able to match up anyone…

(If you did ever give it a try, you should absolutely post it onto my Facebook page).

  20. Claire i started writing last year now i have 3 books on the go its crazy when ever i am stuck on one i get an idea for one of the others and write it in. I am a bit concerned about my grammar but the story’s are shaping up nicely.

have you got any advice for me?

    • That’s great that you can work on a couple at a time. I have to go all-in with mine.

I should write a couple of advice posts – I always forget a few things on the fly. The usual advice I give is to read a lot, write a lot, and finish stories. Keep your first stories simple until you have more experience, etc. Try to think about why you like or dislike elements of other books, games, films, tv series, and try to watch out for those things in your own stories. But don’t be scared to experiment either. πŸ™‚

The most important parts of grammar are easy (and worth it) to learn – if you’re unsure, read a book about it, google a particular rule, etc. There are lots of writing advice videos on Youtube, too. There’s plenty of free info out there. You might as well take advantage of it.

      • thanks i think i will work on my 3rd book i started its more simple than the other two.
Things i hate when reading hmm difficult not to do it, i got to keep it interesting and explain the different things in it but i have to keep it brief because as a reader books like the power of 5 where it gives you detailed outlook on the surroundings but don’t give you much of a story annoy me. But when writing its hard to tell a story without explaining the picture that’s in your head. hmm if i put a nail biter in at every 40 pages maybe that would work. sorry i am going on, you’ve given me much to think about.

        thank you

          • very true each persons style will always be different to another Jim butchers style has a big opener a softer middle then a gripping end. i am trying to have my work follow that guide line with smaller things in between.

have you always had support from the people around you Claire?

            • I try not to keep too many people around me. That tends to help. πŸ˜€

My children’s father has always been supportive when it comes to taking care of things while I write.

              • The one thing that concerns me when i write is what do i do with it after it done?
Not to mention things like protecting my work from someone copying it and passing it off as their own.

I like writing so i can not stop no matter how much some people tell me i am wasting my time. i guess that’s just me.

                • Just write the next thing. All you can control is the words you write, so I wouldn’t worry about what other people say or do.

                  • thank you you have helped me find a piece of mind.

But i think i will still worry about someone copying and pasting my work then adding their name on it for awhile.
